About: @JazzjunkNL

I am a jazz-fan, pianist (sometimes singer) and I love beautiful music. Mostly jazz, but I view jazz as a broad concept. Musicals, classical music, dance, theatre: anything can be(come) jazz. And I very much enjoy my wonderful Schölze piano from the 1930s, which I accidentally ran into, during my quest for the best piano in the world. I consider myself fortunate to have found that piano…

You can find a note/scrapbook of some of my recordings and compositions here on Soundcloud. Other than that you may want to cgeck out two special projects bij Eva de Mooij and Marinus van den Berg to which I contributed.

CD: Verstilde Woorden
In October 2012, a cd was released on which I accompany the Dutch singer/songwriter Eva de Mooij on piano. The cd is part of the book-cd project: ‘Verstilde Woorden’. At the core of this project are the texts and words of Marinus van den Berg, a pastor with a lot of experience on mourning, care and farewell. Eva de Mooij has used his texts as the basis for eight beautiful songs that can be listened to at home or in memorial services.

We hope that the songs provide support, joy and comfort to all listeners.

CD: Vreugde van luisteren
In November 2013, a follow up book/cd was published by ten Have. It is also a cooperation between Marinus van den Berg and Eva de Mooij and I had again the pleasure to accompany Eva on the piano. The publication is called: Vreugde van Luisteren, which translates as: Joy of Listening. The songs are refreshing and intimate, with beautiful supporting vocals by Joosje van Dooren en Margriet Prins.

The book/cd presentation took place on November 3 in the Singelkerk in Amsterdam. The first book was presented to a representative of Sensoor, a non-profit organisation that works with volunteers that help by carefully listening to the people that call them.
